Re: Is being in a clan worth it?

Im with most of everyone else, join a community.

I joined a Delta Force 1 clan about 5 years ago. It was more than a clan, it was a community. We all changed games together, went to Rogue Spear, then to CS and so on.
We were all a bunch of friends and it was great. I still talk and play with a few of them, even after just recently gettin back into gaming after a 3 1/2 year absence.

Its something that I really do miss

is being in a clan worth it? the reason why I ask is that clans I was told play the game correctly and gain much better results and faster at unlocking weapons and gaining ranks without cheating.

I am not yet good, so please don't ask me yet as I am new and still learning the ropes so to speak and just enjoying the game and trying to lead my team to certain death. lol. Just more interested what it is like and do you play in teams and enjoy the game as it creates a much better performance and you can learn to work together. Although sometimes it can get frustrated if the other side clans are much better due to wiping you out in seconds. I bet that must get to some people.

      Thanks

      :)

Well for me I would say yes the reasons being.

1.You meet some cool people from all over

2.Gaming is alot more fun with people you know

3.It's more fun working as a team

4.Scrim's and competitions are a blast

Re: Is being in a clan worth it?

Im sure I will burn in hell for saying this....

Sod clans. From my expirence, a clan dont mean classy playing. Ive always put clans in high reguard (something to do with BattleTech I think). But Ive seen to many arsehole players that are clan members. Too many clan members who punish and too many clan members who dont know the game. And who try to kill you, cos you jumped into the second seat of a chopper before their friend.
Ive always had the idea that clan members would be the guys that are knowledged, skilled and (sometimes) friendly.
Now before every clan family comes down on me like a Blackhawk. I would like to state that there are good clans about....just Ive never seem to bump into them.

So, just hook up with some normal players, get the voice thingy on and your can have a great time. Yes, normal, non-clan players can be just as good, if not better.

Just as a quick note, if all you've ever played was public servers (like me) the first time you step into an 8v8 or a 12v12 scrimmage or match between 2 clans or squads that know what they are doing, you are in for the shock of a lifetime.
I normally score up top 5 or better on a public server, but a clan scrimmage that I played in the other day was absolutely miles above anything I had done before.

Being a part of a clan has exponentially increased the fun of the game for me.
