I have played with many clans as a normal player and they have been stuck up and many other things so I don't think it's worth it.

I wonder if you mean a squad? Sure a clan can get in a server and wipe up and you'll get tons of points, but what if you run into another clan? or another good working squad?

I kinda wish I was in a clan, but if you can't play on a regular/consistent basis, stick to playing on servers and joining squads.

look in the "clans" sub-section of these forums. many are recruiting. as far as a "community" well, there's no section for that, but descriptive terms are less than a science, and one man's clan may be another's community. :) post there re what you are looking for (i.e., casual, competative, fun, drunks, whatever ), and you'll get plenty of responses.

we fall into 3/4 of the above descriptions; everything except competative.

Just a question that I thought about today
is being in a clan worth it? the reason why I ask is that clans I was told play the game correctly and gain much better results and faster at unlocking weapons and gaining ranks without cheating.

I am not yet good, so please don't ask me yet as I am new and still learning the ropes so to speak and just enjoying the game and trying to lead my team to certain death. lol. Just more interested what it is like and do you play in teams and enjoy the game as it creates a much better performance and you can learn to work together. Although sometimes it can get frustrated if the other side clans are much better due to wiping you out in seconds. I bet that must get to some people.

I wouldn't say that you learn to play the game correctly, you just learn to utilize the game more effectively, provided you are in a clan that knows what it is doing.

I guess it depends on the type of clan you are thinking about or are joining. If you are looking for a clan that wants to play competitively and win in matches alot, you will learn alot. If you are looking at a clan that is just out for fun and not playing in a league of sorts, you mite not learn everything, but the having teammates to back you up in a pub is always good fun.

Either way, playing in a clan has alot of benefits. You can learn alot or just have fun with people that work together on a pub using a decent voice communications program.

Competitive league playing does have a downside though, it can stress your ass out. But, you will never play on a pub and get the same level of competition (and sometimes frustration) as you do in a sanctioned match. Only time you will get close to that in a pub, is if your whole clan runs into another whole clan that is on the opposite team, but that isn't always fair as you/they mite be a short a few and you mite not have your best fraggers in there.

be carefull when joining a clan and dont join an immature one like i did. When i quit the leader got ****ed and hacked into one of the forums i was using and messed it all up. Just make sure its a good mature clan and everyone gets along with each other. Its a great way to use teamwork when used right, cause you can actually talk to them while playing via TS or VENT, so that gives you an advantage.

I defenetly recommend being member of a clan, you play with ppl you get to know, teamwork is often there, and you simply have fun. the comes matchs and scrims wich makes it even better.

you can get headsets at radioshack for 5 bucks..you can get them anywhere..
