I feel like i'm the only one not on bf2 all because of patch 1.03 I got the patch and a load of CTD's then i delete settings uninstalled bf2 and reinstalled it on new settings then no crash but an error bleep but no message WTF pleez help i hv a GeForce FX 5600 which ran the game fine b4 i also have DX9 so no-one ask about that and i hv the latest drivers help me i haven't played bf2 since the patch came out

... Also, do another Dload of that patch from another location... and re-install the all thing.

i can't run dxdiag 4 sum reason and i'm pretty sure it's nothing 2 do with the patch bcos when i tried 2 run the game on other settings this happened aswell (B4 patch 1.03)

Well, then it might be ur system.
There's alot of threads covering it.... but here's a list of some...
Clean of cache, defrag ur disk, Tuneup ur system (TunUp Tools on internet), Update PB....

I know i haven't been on this thread about a month but i wanted to restart it.BTW if anyone sees me its cos i'm at my dads and his comp runs BF2 . Anyway after about a month of turmoil my problem is still here. All that i need to do is reinstall directx 9.0c, simple you say, NO. First i get cabinet file cannot be trusted found an easy work around but then i get "direct x failed to copy a required file installation failed" WHY DO MICROSOFT ENDORSE CRAP PRODUCTS GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRR
I've tried everything i found don't give me solutions involving cyrographing thingys dxxpunp or re-downloading and yes i have switched off all anti virus

Ok if your directX is borked the only way to fix it is to uninstall SERVICE PACK 2 then reinstall it, DirectX comes with SP2, and do all the updates again. This happened to me awhile back reinstalling SP2 is the only way.
