Re: Do Bomber pilot not like having a co-pilot?

For as sad as this sounds..... I didnt realize the bomber had 2 seats until I jumped in the same time as someone else did and I was placed in the copilot/missile seat.

Now I wait a bit and see if anyone wants to come along for the ride.

When I'm in a pub and hop in a bomber, I'll usually wait ten seconds or so before taking off to give a teammate time to reach it. Anything longer, I'll take off before them. Gulf of Oman as MEC, I will take off without hesitation due to spawn rapage. I also find myself sometimes taking off before they can reach the plane; seems like everytime I hop in one somebody stands in front of it for a TK.

my brother and i copilot all the type. we're on skype together, i love it.
How can you have Skype running while gaming BF2 online? Don't you know Skype is a huge bandwidth hugger? Skype's data transfer overhead is completely ridiculous...
Get Teamspeak (my fav.) or Ventrilio. Teamspeak, imo has the best voice quality/bandwidth usage.

Always funny when I see some jet's trails form only straight lines, and hard edges. You can tell exactly what latency those players have by just estimating how far the nicks in the trails are apart from each other

I love to have a co-pilot in my plane when I pilot. I also like to be copilot when someone else likes to fly the bomber.
You rack up a lot of points when doing it the right way.
Voip is a must-have for both - co-pilot, and pilot. So many times my co-pilot saved my butt by telling me where the enemy was. Or he'd tell me about ground targets to bomb which I haven't seen yet.

A pilot that does not like co-pilots in his plane should imo only get in one-seaters, grab a jeep etc. but please leave the bombers to those that can handle them the right way.

I always want a co-pilot... just because you can be way more effective and I think its very sellfish to run off on your own in a 2 seater

and omg do I hate it when the pilot doesn't line you up or anything

Re: Do Bomber pilot not like having a co-pilot?

It's good to have a co-pilot. Sometimes no one isn't willing to do the job, though... they bail out or simply won't come onboard. I always fly as a squad leader, so the second place is almost always open... I'm not willing to wait for a co-pilot on airfield, because I don't like to be a sitting duck for TK'ers or baseraping pilots, but anyone who is willing to join my squad and spawn next to me is welcome to do so anytime.

If co-pilot is any good and can hit targets, I gladly scout targets for him.

I don't like flying WITHOUT a WSO! Helps out so much when I get a lock on.. He switches to the rear view camera and tells me if it is ground AA or a jet.. I fly with my bomber HUD up and call out targets to him so he knows when to expect to fire. I'll fly around until I'm damaged and need to return for repairs, often making several passes over the battlefield without bombs.

I always wait for a co-pilot. it makes the vehicle more deadly.

Co pilots are essentual to a good bomber. But sometimes I think you'd have to take out a want ad to get one. Many is the time if a person can't fly, they wont get in. In Jo/Joe I've often offereed people a choice even if I have posestion of the aircraft. Do you want to fly or shoot. Makes no difference to me most times.

I dont care if they're in with me as long as they dont try to be a backseat driver

Re: Do Bomber pilot not like having a co-pilot?

FYI the US Air Force calls the second seater a WSO (weapons system officer) and the US Navy calls the second seater a RIO (radar intercept officer). Im not sure about the Marines but since they are a branch of the navy I would think they probably call him an RIO.

Re: Do Bomber pilot not like having a co-pilot?

Personally i don't like a co pilot (in a plane or heli). I think i'm the greatest pilot across the globe as long as there is a message on screen that says "Game will start when X players join", after which i'm the crappiest, dumb fingered, dim witted most god awful excuse for a pilot going. God forbid anyone actually getting in the plane, i wouldn't even get off the runway. lol.

P.s. My first post. Hi to all. :)
