Mouse + Movement = BIG PROBLEMS! Help!

Rebinding the mouse keys has been a problem in BF2 since its release, and the 1.3 patch has made things even worse. There is a whole series of problems associated with re-binding the mouse keys with the move forward/backward keys. A fair number of people have already complained about the GLARRING BUGS regarding this, but I will reiterate and consolidate them here in the hope that EA corrects this problem soon.

#1) Trying to rebind mouse keys in the control set-up causes the first problem. I use the right mouse button (mouse01 in BF2) as my forward key. If you try to bind this key and then set a backward key on the keyboard the forward binding is erased. You can circumvent this by setting the backward key on the keyboard as the primary binding and the forward mouse button as a secondary binding. This is annoying at best.

#2) Moving with the mouse button prevents you from performing certain actions. I use the right mouse button (RMB) to move forward, and cannot consequently move and use the radio messages, zoom the mini-map, or show the full screen map. This is EXCEPTIONALLY annoying because I cannot run and ask for help or spot targets.

#3) If the left mouse button is not bound to primary fire (in my case it is alt fire), when using the radio messages and clicking the LMB to select a specific message the action assigned to the LMB will also be performed. This is really crappy. Every time I spot or ask for help my gun zooms in, or if I'm in a ATV and kindly ask for repairs the missile fires off each time I click a radio message.

#4) If you rebind the fire key OFF of the LMB you can no longer control the TV missiles by redirecting their course. It will simply not work. This has got to be the dumbest thing ever.

#5) This is another hideous glitch that isn't mouse related but still terribly annoying. If you throw a c4 pack in the air, switch to the detonator before it lands, and press fire it will switch off of the detonator and back to throwing C4 charges. In the heat of a fight this usually results in dropping more c4 right around you leaving you with the choice of blowing yourself up or just running away and getting shot. Crappy.

This is a wonderful game but its crap like this that ruins it in the long run. We can only take so much an annoyance.

Anyone have any friendly advice? I've tried deleting configs/resetting controls, to no avail.

I hate to burst your bubble, but this isn't the offical EA support forums.

The issues you have are due to limitations of the games engine. You have to consider the input that it uses to calculate all of the physics and things of that nature. Remember this game is far more complex then something like HL2 which can afford to add in some extra goodies. Then agian they don't have the huge worlds and huge amount of vehicle classes and types to be as concerned about either.

      i have the same issues

right mouse for forward and radio key to w and e
      space for backwards

everything worked fine until patch 1.03
I've email EA about it and the smacktard said to delete the profile to defaults.
What the smacktard didnt realize, in which i stated , that bf2 was a fresh install with 1.03

still no reply on the answer

Re: Mouse + Movement = BIG PROBLEMS! Help!

the bigger issue ISNT THE ENGINE

        settings worked fine before
the rumor thru the grapevine is that ppl were complaining about the controls so they reprogrammed the inputs to the mouse, thats why the smacktards recommend everyone use the DEFAULT keys to play this game
