If you're gonna use a laptop for BF2, you have to get one with a descent video chipset. Radeon 9000 is ok, but won't work too well for BF2. I'm not familiar with the quality of Alienware laptops, but if it has the better video chipset such as a Radeon x600, Geforce 6800 or better, you should consider it. Voodoo has some nice laptops with decent video chipsets for gaming.

IBM makes some nice stuff, but I haven't seen any thinkpads, that has a video chipset fast enough for gaming. Especially not for BF2.

Agreed. Thinkpad is my first choice but they don't really have a good gaming laptop. I'm thinking of getting a Dell Precision M70 right now. I don't want a 17" screen or ATI video card so Inspirons and Latitudes are ruled out.

check out the Acer Ferrari on tigerdirect.

        AMD 64bit Turion processor
        1 gig RAM
        Radeon x600 PCI-e card
        100 gig HD
        DVD-burner combo drive
        bluetooth mouse included

I don't think you can get a whole lot better than that for the price of $2200. Especially if you get too much more than that you will have cooling problems.
