what do you play for?

i guess what i want to know is what do you guys play for?

is it the points? badges medals etc.. rank? or is it the joy you feel after owning a round?

i went on this server last time and it was only wake island, after three rounds of being killed by tanks, helis, planes and art constantly, i was ready to give up and call it a day. the the next round i came first, and the next, and the next... and it was worth every second.
i know some people play to hear the words.."you've been recommened for an award" and to be honest, i do too sometimes, but its not the only thing that drives me. finding a great squad that works together and influencing the outcome of the game is also something rare but beautiful.

anyway, so... what about you?

i like the medals and the unlocks, like set a goal and work for it, im trying to get the Legion of Merit ribbon right now

truthfully, a mix of honor and unlocks.

I like driving forward for new unlocks but most of the time once im ingame, i couldnt care about them and just play for honor. Nothing better than having a team work together.

that happened to me on more than one occasion, i go in ready to get this or that, then five minutes in and im just giving it my all and enjoying my self.

Nowadays I just try to kill people in humiliating ways, stats be damned.

Like any game.. I play for fun.
Part of that fun though is the competition. I like organized ladders and working as a team to accomplish a goal. BF2 reminds me a lot of the sports that I play. I play hockey and get the same feeling when a team works together on bf2 as when we do on the ice.

Medals/badges/ribbons. Odd, because as soon as a decent mod comes out I'll move to that which won't have medals/badges/ribbons and will be all about fun!

I play for the sheer enjoyment factor of it all. Nothing else. Medals/badges/stats are there just because they are.*


* although I confess to having a sneak peak at them every now and again.

ye, the ladies love it when you can fly a heli/jet, drive a tank/apc/ and kill a dozen poeple all in half an hour and not get arrested after.

I play for fun and much prefer playing with people I know and creating a squad so we can w0ork together in capturing enemy positions etc.

Much more satisfying.

before the patch, especially before I got the third unlock, I was point whore more or less. I'd help my team, but some times I'd do **** just for the points, and maybe not wait to pick some one up. After the patch, I try my best to get my team to win, if it means I just drive people around the battle thats fine, I have too many unlocks now, points be damned. I also like managing the assests in game, if I'm playing with buddies, or good random people in a squad, I make sure all the air power, and armour are being used, by the right people if possible. Some times I drive other people to various vehciles, just so the enemy can't have em.

The badges and awards are no more then JPGs to me, some of them I genuinely feel good about, team work bades, commander and squadleader badges. It's nice to get em, but I don't need to know the requirements for them.

I play for the badges and ect...but there is nothing better then rolling around in a tank and just mowing people down...

Now that I have all the badegs I could get in 'normal' gameplay I will FLY ^^... yes, helis and planes either!! Or stealth-snipe around, get behind enemy lines with spec-ops and blow their heads out. ENJOY
