Waaaaay too many sounds

Since installing patch 1.03, the game sounds permanantly like Omaha Beach. You can be standing in the middle of nowhere, on your own and it seems every sound in the game is playing at the same time. This happens on every map, all the time and is starting to ruin the game for me. The game worked perfectly upuntil the patch was applied and all the latest drivers have been applied. Any ideas???????
