Why? Didn't we suffer through this in in DC with the Saiga 12k and the VSS? Why now, in BF2, must we tolerate the grenade launchers? Dubbed the "n00b cannon" for a reason, the GP-30 and it's counterparts are used, predominantly, as a Close Quarters Combat weapon by players who are completely unskilled with every other gun. Thanks to EA and DICE's weapons physics, these unskilled n00bs are able to launch a grenade to a target less than 6 feet away and not die with their enemy.

Anyway, to make a long story longer, this ****es me off to no end.

I know of several servers that BAN for the use of the grenade launchers. I suspect my clan server will be doing the same shortly.

ya this is the first game i have encountered that has this, in ghost recon you would die from 10 feet away. crazy stuff.

Well lets look at this problem from a different point of view...Why do people use the "Newb" Tube as I like to call it. Maybe its the most realistic weapon in the game. I for one HATE shooting 2 3 shot burst into a mec with an M-16 and not killing him...solution shove a 'Newb Tube' up his @$$ and pull the trigger. What EA needs to do is make the weapons stronger so Newb Tubers don't have the final word. Example, why do I have to shot a person with a .50 cal sniper rifle 2 times to kill him...and why is it so inaccurate. My solution is simple...Keep the newb tube as is. Turn all weapon damage up by 2 times, this way a newb tuber woun't have the chance to get you from far way...make suicides worth -8 to detter both Jihad Jeeps and close range newb tubes...Give the medics more power so more people will want to be them.

In short keep the Newb tubes...make the weapons more realistic to neutrilize the effect of the newb tubes.

make up stupid little rules cos you can't work out a tactic to defeat this problem then good on ya. Just don't expect anyone to follow them.

How the hell can you combat the noob tube situation when your going round a corner unless you can move faster than chimp with a rocket up his @ss.
I use the noob tube but at distance like said soo many times it is a pain in the arse but on the other hand bunny hopping,dolphin diving,chopper whores, planes.. list is endless:laugh:

In real life the M203 has a minimum arming distance of 14 to 38 meters (46 to 125 feet approx.), the HE grenades it fires have a casualty radius of 5 meters (16.5 ft approx.). That means even if the M203 didn't have a safety range it would still be ineffective in CQC as it would take you out as well.

Im new to the game but I'm quite sure the reason they live is cause assault have armor and thus withstands a beating more easily then a unarmoured target.

...just cos u dont have 1000 kills dont mean your not a good player. I dnt get to play a lot cos of a levels n all that kinda thing...but give me a m24 and your history. I feel sorry for people who have nothing else to do in their lives than play bf2 all day 24/7 . I think the n00b tube is pretty handy...spesh if uve run outa ammo for primary weapon. good for taking out campers , spesh wen thers bout 3 of them all grouped together. (assault badge plz )

I use my so-called noob tube alot. I do use it at up close. When I do, I tent to jump, [now your gonna call me a bunny hopper too?]. I only jump to avoid the blast. A little side jump normally does the trick.
But, I also use it for long range. and I mean LONG RANGE. I can out range a sniper anyday.
Dont get upset with us tube users. jump in a plane or APC and watch us run!! mind you, I do like to play with APC with my tube. I know it dont do any real damage, but I do like the game of hide & seek.

When you got a MEC atttack chopper coming at ya, your be screaming for some noob tube to save your arse. and Im just the kind of guy who can do that :P

You are speaking for the whole SIR community and frankly, I wouldn't put up with your putting words in their mouths saying that you are going to ban people for using a weapon that is built into the game.
