My Guide to the Laser Guided Missile

I love these.

The trick is that the missile has a lot of momentum at first, so there is a much smaller area (when looking out of the nose of the plane) where you can get a lock the missile can actually hit.

Step 1: Basics- Always keep your crosshair in line with the tip of the plane. Then, when you see a potential candidate, place the crosshair on top of it.

Step 2: If you get a lock, fire! If you dont, do not fire as it is out of range or a friendly.

Step 3: Only fire the missile if you think you can keep the lock till the missile hits the target. If you lose the lock right as the missile is about to hit, most of the time it will hit anyway.

Step 4: If you have fired, and lost the lock, some times you can still guide the missile.

Remember, do not expect the missile to make a 45 degree turn to strike a target. There is probably only a 30-40 degree arc coming out of the front of the plane where a missile will hit a target.

If you are not trying to hit vehicles, just fire and place your crosshair where you want the missile to land. I will usually land close to that area.

One last thing, YOU NEED A GOOD PILOT TO USE THESE WELL!

As far as I know, there's no need to hold the lock. Thise missles are fire-and-forget. You do need to get a lock before you fire the missle, but once you do, you are done and can acquire another target.

Following the tip of the plane is deffinitely what people should do (as opposed to "Watching the ground", but I would suggest to turn slightly left and right as the plane is turning so that you lock on the targets before the pilot "straightens" the plane on them. It is no use to you to try to get targets left or straight from the plane if the plane is turning right. You won't be able to lock those targets before the plane loses the "angle of attack" on them, which I would say is pretty small.

Not really sure if this helped me out personally, because I figured that the Laser Guided Missles were a No-Braniner type of thing. However there was some things in there I did not know about.

Overall I have to say Undecided, but I do thank you for taking the time to write this guide. Because it may not help me, but it could help someone else! :)

That really didnt help at all. You just kind-of stated the obvious reasons through the whole thing. I agree with JustinMcg when he says Laser Guided Missles are a no-brainer.
