Am I the only one, or has the server browser ruined the game for anyone else? Everytime I'm bored and think about playing, I start thinking of having to look for the server, withstand the load time, and then drag out the 5 minute lag period I get for my low memory, not to mention having to go through this again for the next map. So I simply forget about it and do something else. I understand the large amount of graphics and physics and what not that go into the game, but after so many years of using the Steam browser, it's hard not to think so little of this one. And along with the new expansion that's coming out (which, I'm sure, will probably suck as much ass with it's release as BF2 did), I not so sure I'm even going to play this game much anymore. It's a great game, don't get me wrong, but to me it's just too much of a hassle to play.

Re: Lack of interest due to browser
Go to bf2al.com. Download the file. Install it. Find a server (you might want to get their 6200+ server serverlist.txt). Get busy.Originally posted by x3phyrHaha. How naive of me :p . So how exactly does it work?

Re: Lack of interest due to browser
Your point is right, x3phyr. I find i feel exactly the same way pretty often. 3rd party solutions may exist, but even with a better browser outside the game, its usually simpler and more satisfying to load up CoD and be in actual gameplay in about 15 seconds flat.
I'm not asking for 15 seconds from desktop to game for bf2, but i AM asking for a browser that doesnt require five minutes to get working. It can't be that hard. Many, MANY games do a great deal better. Why don't other browsers lag as they gather server data? Why don't other browsers force you to wait while they update the list? Why don't other browsers have faulty filters? We've had good server browsers for years. DICE should have been taking notes.Comment
