Sergeant Major and explosive ordinance

So, like I mentioned in another thread, I have all the basic badges except Explosive Ordinance. According to ubar, it's not necessary to have that badge to make it to Sergeant Major, but I just want to know if anyone here who has made Sergeant Major can confirm that that information is accurate. I still have about 3500 points to go before I reach 50,000, but with the C4 bug giving me so many fits (and I'd rather not have to Jihad Jeep my way to it if possible ) I can't get myself 13 C4/Claymore/AT mine kills in one round. If the badge isn't necessary for advancement I won't worry about it, but if it is then I'll try to get it. I know there's techincally no difference between Sergeant Major and Master Gunnery Sergeant, but SgtMaj gets that neato looking star, and chicks dig guys with stars...

from what i hear the bug only happens when u lay down one c4 and then go to ur detenator so use 2. but if it doesnt have it as a requirment then i doubt u have to have it

ubar is correct. i got promoted to sergeant major without having the basic explosives badge. after i got promoted, i then tried to get it and was successful. just make sure you get over 50k pts and you'll be sergeant major (that is of course if you're currently a first sergeant).
