    Not really a guide. lots of info on attack helicopters

    Not much of a guide but is helpful for new people at flying attack helicopters and pilots that are rather skilled that need to know how many hits is needed to distroy whatever may they comeacross that is worth killing.

    How many hits from a helicopter does it take to kill what ever. this is not 100% acc. but i tested a few times in a cobra on both china and MEC. All the same in hits count but the chinese wanabe black hawk got 8 hits which the others got 7.please remeber these are hits anywhere on the body not just weak spots such as the ass of a tank or so on. I hit the tank on the top and sides. anyway

    JETS-
    Bombers=2 hits
    Fighters=2 hits

    TANKS AND APC-
    Tanks=5 hits
    APC=4 hits ( i also counted the time on hits from the railgun on a APC 11 sec)

    Anti-Aircraft Tanks-
    AA-4 hits

    Helicopters-
    wanabe hawks-7 hits (chinese got 8 in 2 tests)
    attack helos-6 hits

    Jeeps-
    sandrail-2 hits
    Jeep-2 hits

    Light armour jeeps-
    hmmv-(never counted its prolli 2 or 3)
    Retarded Vans-(never counted its prolli 2 or 3)

    Boats or RIB-
    RIBs-2 hits
    BASIC STUFF
    Everything goes bye-bye if you can get a TV guided missile to hit it.You can use TV guided missiles if you are the Gunner of the helicopter and you left click. from there you use the cross-hairs to shot. when you line up a shot right click and whach something blow up in a large firey explosion

    Hit "X" to shot flares to get them nasty heat-seekers off you.If you hear a beeping prolli smart to hit this.

    Hit "left control" button for free look. meaning you can look around without your helicopter moveing along with.good for quickly finding targets without flying your helicopter around in circles and looking like a idoit.

    You can only repair your helicopter at friendly bases.So dont try to use enemy bases for repair or resupplie of ammo.

    If you got a nice commander you can get him to drop supplies in a good area and you can repair/resupplie yourself there.

    Or get your Gunner to use support kit and you can be engineer visversa and you can land yourself in a not hot spot.repair and resupplie yourself when landed. then get back in the fight rather fast.

    For info on flying use your battlefield 2 handbook thingy

    If you have a qustion on anything that has to do with flying ask me.If you have a qustion on my stupidness of writeing/typeing skills please feel free to correct me or call me retarded.

    please do remember that "9" is your parashoot

    tell next time this is PFC.WELCOME i am vary special.and remember with a little Training you can be too.

      Some of those suprised me, such as it takes 4 to take out an AA. I guess that makes sense though. Also 2 on a boat suprised me, maybe it's becasue my gunner touches it a little with the chain gun before I finish the job. Also a lot of the time you'll kill the drver before blowing the vehicle up on the buggies and stuff.

          it takes 4 to take out the AA.... but it takes less to take out the guy manning the AA..

          I wonder why a pilot would use flares with the dodgy stingers.. if you're near an enemy air asset, the stingers will lock on to those anyway, giving the AA some tk points (again.. and again) (sarcasm alert)

              I thought I'd add if you are the gunner and you are above another helio and you can get lined up for a clean shot use the guided missle and aim for the back of the helio (the tail blade) as it is a one missle kill on all helicopters.

                6 hits for helos? it always seemed less ...

                  the tv missile is a one shot kill for anything, no matter where you hit it. hit any part of a chopper, tank, apc, etc. and it's dead.

                    Re: Not really a guide. lots of info on attack helicopters

                    Thanks for the help. I was flying the attack chopper earlier and wasn't killing all the armor that I saw. I was landing 2-3 hits on most of them.

                    I am usually at an altitude of 40 (which is probably too high, but I'm a newbie pilot). When I unload all 14 of my rockets at my crosshairs, they always seem to land ahead of my crosshairs. Is this recoil or something from the rockets?

                      No, its due to a combination of your rate of descent and forward motion. The rockets only land exactly on the cross hair if you are hold a level hover.

                      Learning where the rockets will land when your chopper is both moving forward and diving down is where the real skill of being a good attack chopper pilot lays. Search the forum and you'll find some good threads on the subject and then practice. A lot :-)
