i got an ati X800 and on the box it says AGP 8x/4x. i wannna noe if i can get what the 8x means cuz for some reason the highest i can get it is 4x....

Your mobo might not support AGP8x.
Dont worry about it. There is virtually no performance difference between AGP4x and AGP8x.

Yes there is... AGP 8X has twice the bandwidth of AGP 4X.

He is right, in practice there is no significant difference between AGP4x and AGP8x just as there is no significant speed difference between a regular IDE drive and a SATA 150 drive, and yes I have both and benchmarked them. It is called 'marketing'.
