ok ok i need some help port forwarding bf2... for some reason it jsut doesnt work. It works for all other games BUT bf2 and idont know why ... is there somehting i need to know bout port forwarding bf2??

Ok....
I modified my modem this evening so I could connect my laptop and PC to the modem at the same time. Everything works fine but I discovered that Battlefield 2 didn't work with my router/modem with port forwarding. It's a very specific case and port forerding *should* always work.
I just thought I'd mention it as it was strange to see someone with the same problem as me a couple of hours after I discovered the same problem :)Comment

Ok....

Hmmm, I have not set up port forwarding on my Netgear router, but BF2 works OK for me. Am I missing something ??Comment

Most people do NOT have to set up port forwarding for BF2 to work. I haven't done anything special on my old Linksys BEFSR41 v1 and BF2 works fine with no ports forwarded.
BUT..because I always like things set up perfectly, I set up port forwarding anyway
Doesn't hurt.
