Unable to duck, plz help

As i might be one of the few that still play with numeric keys this problem probably isn't that well known but here it is.

As many of you might know playing with numeric keys is next to impossible without editing the controls.con file. After done this the message "key already bound " ( or something similar) when configuring the desired numeric keys to f.i. walk forward / backward.

Only issue left is being unable to duck ingame.
something that doesn't help me when looking for the best position for sniping/spotting/cover behind obstacle etc.
thing is that the key is bound correctly in the ingame controls to two buttons, also in the controls.con file all seems well.
even if i bind it to a mouse key ducking just won't happen when pressed.

After all the issues i had since prime install of BF2 this is my last major issue i cannot overcome by just accepting it.

my last means of solving this are these forums, since i cannot find a thread with this i newthreaded this. can anyone help me duck again ??

What key did you bind crouch too?

I have the same problem except with different keys. I have my movement keys in an ESDF configuration with A bound to crouch. I've gone through the controls.con file and removed all of the references to the A key except for crouch, but for some reason it's just not responsive when I press 'A'.

exact same problem then, i have a feeling the exact key is not the problem but just the crouch binding key....

to anser the Q:

i bound it to numeric period ( that is my prefferable key ).
but even when bound to any other key ( say the default c or arrow right or even mouse 2) no response ingame like it is unbound.

when i delete the binding and exit, restart and rebind.. then restart, check the setting ( it's ok ) and start a game it's unresponsive.

dunno if it matters but sp or mp it's the same.

Dice seems to manage to make a 64 player game run quite smootly but i just cannot duck !! frustrating IMOH.

i have no clue what the solution could be cuzi get no error of any kind.
