Upgraded mobo, game wont work anymore...

Ok i just upgraded my motherboard from a ECS K7S5A pro to a ASUS A7V600. The game used to work fine on the old mobo. Now with the AGP8X i hopped the ga,e would be better but instead it wont even work...

i start it up, i get the bf2 logo screen. Then it goes black to start up but it goes back to windows. i dont get any of the ea games and the dice logo, it just goes back to windows with no message or anything of the sort. I check the processes and its not even there. I reformatted my harddrive end updated all the drivers for everything so that cant relly be the problem.

Specs:
ASUS A7V600
AMD athlon xp 2000+
Sapphire radeon 9200se atlantis
1GB of PC3200

I would say your vid card isn't up to the task, but if you said it was working fine before I don't know.

What about your MOBO chipset drivers, did you install those?

Also you can't host files directly from you computer like your trying to do in you sig.

And to go further off topic, that statistic in your sig is BS. Oly loke 40%-50$ of teens have tried drugs. Maybe you should do some more research before you blindly put false statistics in your sig.

I kno i cant host files directly from my comp, i had tried it but my sig didnt want to save anymore. And the stats in my sig are false and i know it, but heck its pretty funny.

And to go even more off topic why do you need to say that when i posted to get some answer to my problem...

Anyways im relly ****ed off that it isnt working, i have updated and installed every single driver for everything in my comp. The only thing thats not up to date is my BIOS, witch ill be flasing later today.

The only thing i can think of is that my card is over heating from the change to 8X AGP. I could play the game fine with med-low settings before, the biggest problem was the agp speed was creating a bottleneck in my system.

Change it back to 4x. 4x won't bottleneck that old of a card. That right there I'd bet is your problem, many others have had to change it to 4x for it to work.

I think that you need to delete your profiles folder 0001 in :

\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\


BF2 take a picture of your hardware on install and it expects to find the old mobo.

p.s.

Maybe it's the cache that you have to remove...I can never remember :)

Ya my pc is crap i kno, but i cant still run it fine at med settings (w/o anti-alias of course). And the min specs are abit lower then my system, but then again im getting a new system when the radeon X1K series come out.

Also i see some poeple didnt understand the "reformated my hard-drive" concept, so i dont have any cached files, or any profiles in there.

But now i get to the movies and crap. It only locks up when i get to the log-in screen and then catalyst tells me that my vpu is not responding anymore... I used to get that sometimes on my old mobo but i could keep playing after that, so thats weird...

well i had med on my old mobo that had a SiS 735 chipset
My new one has this VIA KT600 chipset

ya i kno med is as much as my rig would take, i lowered a few settings to low to get resonable fps if i would go on the big 64 player servers :p
