sound then blank screen

I know this is an oldish prob but after recently tryin to get patch 1.03 to work(unsuccessfully) i deleted my settings and made some ore then i reinstalled BF2 i got that lamo d2dx9_25 mesage soon sorted that out then i tried 2 play but i just heard an error noise and got a black screen

I've had probs with patch 1.03 the usual 'CTD when starting' one but i noticed this prob when tryin to play on other settings aswell PLEEZ HELP i've been deprived of BF2 4 so long:cry: :cry: :cry:

Thats a direct X 9 error from the sounds of it, have you reinstalled direct X 9c and got the latest drivers for your graphics card, btw what card are you using?

1. I've updated direct x ,it isn't that other stupid error message bcos i can't actually see the message but if i put task manager up it says error if i end task it switches off BF2 aswell
2. dunno what card i hv but i didn't have this prob b4 only on other settings
