I installed BF2 on my new computer and it always freezes at 46% loading when joining a server. It does this whether it is optimizing shaders or not, whether it is the original version of BF2 or 1.03, no matter what map, whether I am hosting the game myself or joining someone elses etc... I reinstalled it on a different drive and it still does it. It is one of the few things currently on my computer, and my computer goes well beyond the system requirements. Anyone have any ideas?

well how long do let it sit at 46%, cuz if u let it sit there for like 5 seonds and quit cuz u think its wrong, that may be it, cuz when it optimized shaders on mine, it usualy seems like it stuck at 46% or 62%, but it just needs a longer time. -

It can sometimes take a LOOOOOOOOONG time.
If you are having problems, then delete your cache and try again:
Delete all folders in this subdirectory:
c:\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cacheComment
