1.03 still won't install and not addressed

Hey i've seen posts on the 1.03 patch not workin for anyone else with partitioned drives such as myself, i have 500 meg free on my c drive and over 90 gig free on my h drive..yet still won't install, i haven't seen any posts on this lately has someone discovered a fix? I'd love to play BF2 again it's been almost 3 weeks...Please post back on what you guys know thanks!

dont double post, have you tried uninstalling bf2, installing it to your H drive then installing the 1.03 patch after that?

It is already installed in the H drive, and it's pointless to reinstall cus it runs into the same crash everytime, it takes the space from the c drive , when that runs out, it says error it doesn't have 1600 meg's free...so i can't install the patch in anyway shape or form, and i cant clear space off either. I don't think that there is a solution for this problem, sorry. You need 1.6Gb free on the same drive where Windows is installed.

It could be possible you know, mostly be moving the 'pagefile' and other files to your H: just to free up some space for the install.

ledbythereaper sorry you must not understand much about this situation, you double click that patch, it AUTOMATICALLY drains space from your c drive, i understand how to click advanced and then choose which folder to install to and such, it's nto that issue, as far as the page file goes. i dontknow how to do that , could u explain please? thx

Okay, I have one solution, is your c drive and your h drive the same size?
If so format both and make a RAID0 aray.

my h drive is an external drive, and my c drive is partitioned into 2 drives, and it's too much of a pain to reformat for a patch for a game..it takes hours to get back to the way i want my computer..and i'd rather not reformat. There has to be another way. thx though

Even if you unpack the patch manually and grab the files out of it, it will still unpack files to your C:


Right-click on 'My Computer' and select the advanced tab,
'performance' and select settings then the advanced tab and then select the 'chenge' button.

This window will show you where your pagefile is stored and how much space it takes up (mine takes up 1.5Gb). You can move this to another drive and reboot windows.

Eww external drive, dude 500mb free is not healthy for a drive, you need at least 20% free for optimal performance, and defrag them daily.

yeah i understand that but it's not really an issue. I'll kinda address that when it becomes a problem then next time i'll repartition it, but un til then..Hey is the page file the same thing as virtual memory? cus i can't find page file underperformance but i see virtual memory. Thanks for your help guys!! I appreciate it a lot. (still not fixed tho)

im sure there are others who had this problem, i'm not the only one w/ a partitioned drive.
