  • Which brand?

I'm going to buy the Nvidia GeForce 7800 GTX graphics card. But I'm not sure which brand, I should go with. I want the original cool looking card like on Nvidia's website.

In 2 months I will have this system:

    AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+
    Kingston 2048mb ddr ram
    Nvidia GeForce 7800 GTX
    Asus A8N32 SLi Deluxe
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Elite Pro

    What'd you guys think?

    Re: Which brand?

Personally, I like the BFG cards,

but I've heard good things about the XFX cards too. My pick would be bfg.

In Denmark there is only XFX and Leadtek from those 4 brands, else we got the Asus. I think, I'm going to stick with the Asus Extreme N7800GTX/2DHTV. The other one Asus made with the top is so ugly!

XFX or Leadtek are the best, or wait till Gainward start making the cards with that core.

Yeah but only Asus had the original design. It doesn't make SUCH a BIG deal which brand it is? Does it?

              Re: Which brand?

Yes, different brands will use different types of memory, clock the card differently, some budget brands will get rid off pipelines and run the card slower.

Gainwards Golden Sample cards usally use 2.2ns memory and have the card guarrentyed to overclock.

I don't want to overclock my hardware. It's simple stupidity..

Gainward pre overclock them if you read my post, and then they're guaranteed to run at that speed.

And how is getting more for your money stupidtity?

                    BFG works fine for me.

Yes how is it stupidity? If done propely you run no rist of significantly shortening the lifespan or damaging the card. So how is getting more for you money stupid?

Thanks to overclocking my 7800GT can match the scores of a stock 7800gtx. How is saving all the money stupid?
