Looking to get into modelling

Im looking to get into modelling, I have no exp whatsoever I dont even know what programs to use and was wondering if someone could help me

Use Maya for Skining Stuff Ex(Heads,Body,Soldier and that other stuff)

and look for maya and you will find new to 3D? Tut
you can also use Photoshop CS to do some modelling some not all
and if you have already 3DMAX Or GMAX then you are in luck but the bad news is that gmax is no longer an option you probably heard the story of GMAX no longer working with there Support Company anyway other Products are out there for modelling use google or Yahoo! and heres a good link for tuts

Photoshop for modeling? Photoshop is completely 2D... there is no 3D involved.
