Squad! Fall in!

I'm sure every team-oriented player appreciates the idea behind "squads" in BF2. Unfortunately, it seems that even if players are in the same squad, they rarely play as a squad.

What if the game made it so that if you join a squad, you can only spawn beside your squad leader? Obviously, if the SL is in an attack chopper or an FAV, it would be impractical, so some exeptions could be made. Would this help players to stick together and play as a squad?

it would be good yes but as you say, what if the idiot gets in a plane and (like alot of people who play this game) becomes pig ignorant to the chat screen when his squad are screaming for him to get out of it which in turn would force you to join another squad anyway, pretty much like now really :P

good idea though and wouldnt mind seeing in ingame :)

when i first enter a server and i scan for a squad to join the first thing i do is look to see what the squad leader is and if the squad is togeather. if the squad leader is in a plane i pass on that squad. of course nothing against flyers but squad leaders unless byself and locked has no buisness flying or being unavalible to spawn on. i usually will join a squad if it looks like they have a nice mix of stuff, and hopfully communicate. the nice thing is if i join and its not what i thought i can leave, no harm done. ive seen great squad leaders get into a tank and another squadmember pulls up in a apc the leader told the apc driver to take his tank and let him have the apc so the squad can spawn on him....now thats a leader to follow
