Join Game Hangs - No mouse keyboard response

Hi

I have been playing BF2 without any problems.

I have an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro on XP with 1500 mb.

I recently installed the latest Catalyst 5.10 drivers and ever since maps load and after clicking the join game the mouse and kwyboard have no response?

I can alt tab to windows but thats all, even escape does not repond??

I have re installed Bf2 and patch, and now rolled back drivers but to no joy!?

I suspect a DX handle error with the BF2 app , no suprises on the sloop coding i fear!!

Anyone else any ideas, or similiar prolems, can you elimintate the ATI card and report the bug with other brands and driver versions?!

Sound like your " controls.con " file in your profile got wiped out, replace it with your backup .. you did back it up did'nt you,.... if not simply go to the control settings ingame & click the " reset to defaults " button and the game will rewrite it of course you will have to redo all your key settings then BACK IT UP. This has happened several times to me.

By default its here
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\My Documents\Battlefield 2
just copy the profiles folder somewhere.

Good mourning,when you say "back up" do you mean copy it somewhere I can find it again?

That's exactly what he said. Copy it to someplace away from the BF2 folders or even onto a CD if you wish.

Thanks again,I know some of my questions seem dumb but I really don't know much about computers.I like to play the games but not much beyound that.But little by little I'm learning,now I know what backing up stuff means.Who knows whats next,maybe download and install a driver ??
