Spotted or not spotted?

I just played commander for the first time. I'm using scan, and using the "spot" command to point out enemies. I get the verbal confirmation "Enemy APC spotted", etc. But I don't see the APC icon on the map, the way it appears if a squaddie spots it - EXCEPT if I make a spot just as the scan blip is fading out.

What's the deal? Are my troops seeing the enemies I've spotted on their radars? Or am I doing something wrong?

Im not sure, but your team can hear you at least. It might be a fix from 1.03 that doesnt let you spot things unless you use a satelite scan.

I heard those commands often so I assume that it's working at least audibly.

I spent a little more time on this last night. If I zoom in close, I can spot and get a normal tracking symbol. If I stay zoomed out, I get the audio only. Not sure what the squad sees, but I think the answer is to zoom before spotting.

Well duh.

Another tip for commanders: click before zooming,
you'll zoom exactly where you clicked.
