I dont really wanna know about hacks to download, Im a believer in legit game play. So, you can drop that flame-thrower, no really...put it down....hey, stop it...get that look outta your eye...AHHH!!! :p

My reason for this thread was to ask: How prevalent are hacks in this game? Are there none at all? Does the occasional one slip thru? Are there current ones EA cant fix?


**PLEASE dont list the names of any hacks in this thread, I dont wanna be responsible for someone coming to read this thread and then going to search for a hack...just stay real vague if possible.**

Actually it has been widely concluded by the haxx0rz that aim bots are not really do-able in BF2's engine because of the server-side processing done for bullet hits and damage.

As far as publicly available hacks go, most make every player's mesh (the frame of polygons) glow a certain color depending on team. These glowing meshes show through walls, and everything else. Vehicles glow too.

I've also seen some fog removal as well.

That said, some haxx0rj00b0xx0rz may have some really unique, powerful hacks for themselves - armor increase, perhaps - but nothing like that is publicly accessible right now.

Texture "hacks" (no real h4x involved), fog hacks, radar hack, 3dmap hack..

Aimbots in BF are probably possible, but unless you are only hunting afk people they are useless.

well , sometimes i get suspicious . but so far i never encoutered anything that you could point and say :
CHEATER !!!! NO WAY !!!!

ocasionally someone turns shoots and Bang! you´re dead .....aimbot ?
but never happens frequently enought to be sure , so ....

there are hacks for the game, they were made as quick as the demo was released. as long as games are made, there are going to be hacks, and cheats for them.

as for hacks in bf2 - yes they do exist, and no theyre not as common as people may think. due to punkbuster constantly updating, ANY hack released by a hack coder is detected and updated within two days (usually). and because of punkbuster's "live update" sort of setup. most serious hackers will be few and far between, keeping their hacks private (not releasing them to the public). so thay their hacks will stay undetected.

as for aimbots in bf2 - as far as i know there WERE two working aimbots, that were working for the 1.02 patch, but were blocked some time ago.

--and as far as hacks that supposedely give people more armor or run longer, or have more ammo.... bottom line is, there are NONE! in order for such things to even exist, they would have to be a SERVERSIDE setting... meaning everyone on the server would be able to do those things, and have them.

every event where someone says "i shot him 12 times in the head" or "he never ran out of ammo!!" can more than likely be chalked up to lag, or a glitch in the game.

Aimbots are possible, not through the traditional kinda with hitbox aimbots and scripts like in cs. But, I'm pretty sure you can make the enemy glow bright blue in the head, and have the computer aim for the bright blue area.

Other hacks like invinciblity, speed, and other server side variables could be overcome with clever manipulation of latency. Since speedhacks are pretty much just somebody lagging really badly and the server is confused where they are. These hacks are pretty easy to spot by just looking at people's ping.

The best anti-hack I can think of right now is a a custom hack. Since to get around PB, most hacks out there are some form of a virus so most users have their virus protection disabled. It would be pretty easy to set up a hack site, google bomb it, and all the cheaters would be drawn to it. Download, install, !!!!boom!!!! cmd prompt reformat c: yes. pwned

*edit* In respsone to Ubermensch: invinciblity hacks are possible as witnessed in CS without any manipulation of the game engine. What hackers are exploiting is latency and the "teleportation" that would happen. For example, the server believes you are here so all the people believe you are there. But in reality you're hitboxes are actually somewhere on the edge of the map.
