BF2 has made me smoke more.

In the days of MOHAA/BF1942 the speed at which one would go from server browser -> game -> level -> level -> server browser etc, meant I was playing pretty much most of the time with the odd half-ciggy between levels.

Now, different kettle of fish altogether! :)

1 cigarette getting from desktop -> Server browser
1 cigarette whilst finding a server that will connect me
1 cigarette whilst waiting for level to load
1 cigarette whilst waiting for escape-to-menu to work
1 cigarette whilst BF2 goes back to desktop.

Maybe I should quit. At this rate I'll be dead by Sunday.

I've just recently stopped smoking, its difficult to stop feeling like a ciggy once the game ends...

Actually one thing I've noticed, its much more difficult to get into a game now, I often have to try 5-10 times before I can get into a game now.

No, it's respectable. All games (including BF2 in-game) run smoother than silk over an exposed ladies nipple.

Maybe the HD needs updating...

HD makes a lot of difference when loading maps .
I have a couple of 10.000 rpm drives in Raid 0 and usually am the first the enter the map (you get a free flag capture that way :-)
But a good SATA drive , or if possible a couple on Raid should do wonders for your load times , how much ram do you have ? I had 1Gb , put an extra 512 and i see some diference .

Theres a way around that do what i do. Roll a big spliff that you light up and put out now and again througout the night. That way you will smoke 0 fags although you will find you take a toke each time you feel like a *** so you do end up getting a bit overly stoned.

I would buy extra RAM but unfortunately my priorities at the moment are ensuring the baby doesn't die, so it might have to wait a few months... still, I'm enjoying it and that's what counts.

Sadly I'm in the UK. I thought it's only the US where you can sue your wife for stubbing your toe on her dresser.

That's what I do roll one up while map is loading play then when next map loads smoke it, rinse and repeat throughout day.
