Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
I kind of liked being the whacko engineer who'd defuse mines off of a bridge , with MG crossfire aiming for me, with some friendlys covering me.. plus being able to stagger an enemy assault to a standstill as my mines would halt that colums.
Mines that are put down in 'classic' mode now are just a threat to your own guys nearby and it doesn't even slow down an enemy. thumbs down in general, I like them more as CP defense tools now, inside some building or such, or indeed the classic of tossing one on top of the tank

wow, I never play engy, but I think it's lame that they can be removed with ordinance... yeah, it's realistic, but it's dumb for this game... makes a bad class even worse... Although, rogue engys can't mess with friendlies now by mining off the tank and trapping it when they don't get it...etc..... but to mine off a bridge or the only entrance to a facility has been effectively removed from the game... you can't redivert traffic anymore or anything like that, because they can just get out and blow your shiz up...

It sure felt sweet the other day to roll up in my tank heading toward the North Gas Station in Mashtuur only to find a nice row of mines across the top of the road...1 tank shell was all it took to set up a cascade that blew up ALL adjacent mines.
Engies simply have to hide their mines a bit better
If they place the mines over the crest of the hill, the tank cannot hit them (or see them until it is too late). So for goodness sake, do NOT place them on the incline and in a clearly visible row
the thing is if ur in a tank ur not going ot shoot at the mine if u dont see it. If u see it u can get out and disarm it or blow it up or drive around it.
Uh... no actually, think about real life - you shoot a mine with a shell and it's gone. You don't have to get out of your tank and get rid of it. This now forces engineers to use their brains as they place their mines, not just place it on 'the best position for a kill', after all, mines are a defensive weapon. I think this is good because now engineers will not be blocking each and every tank's path and instead use their brains and defend their bases.
AT mines should be buried just beneath the surface as well, not tossed out on the road like chicken feed. They should show maybe a small lump on the ground if anything and it should take the engy a second or two to plant a mine (e.g. the engy class in Enemy Territory)
What good does a mine do when on top of a vehicle? It needs presure to destroy the vehicle. However, vehicles do get shot at, mainly tanks by other tanks. So setting a mine on a tank really isn't that bad of an idea!

yeah it strange, but in battlefield its the most effeective way to destroy armour, as they go off when the vehicle drives away - in any direction, or moves because of his guns recoil.
Personally I'm against this new 'feature'. I mean I seldom played engineer because of pinhead teammates and their red skull fetishes, but I was hoping that with the patch they would be made more effective by not penalising the engie for the actions of his teammates. I wouldn't have ever imagined that they would, in fact, make the class even MORE useless by making mines so easy to get rid of. In BF:V and BF1942 you needed the spanner to get rid of the mines, or you had to drive around them. In BF2 - a game where 10/13 maps are DOMINATED by vehicles, they decided to make the mines EASIER to get rid of? Why, I wonder?
IMO they nerfed a class that needed improvement instead. Thumbs down from me on this one.
