The Ram Ban

Im all for a kicking someone who is intentially ramming choppers/other jets with another jet, but listen to my story.

I was playing in some UK clan server 64 man gulf of oman. I was playing the best Ive ever done with a jet. In my previous round I went 46-2 NEVER ramming once. In fact I was shot down and the other death was from artillery. Anyway onto the point. I fly at a MEC chopper taking off and my jet's guns kill the pilot but not the gunner, the chopper then falls back down to the repair pad. I'm not one to let stuff survive so I pull a big U-turn and swing around to finish what I started. I approach the chopper which hasnt even left the pad yet firing the remainder of my missles and consistently hitting it with the reg. gun. The heli swerves as it is now on fire and about to explode and swings straight up and back into me. I had accidently rammed and made sure to apologize right away and say it was totally not intentional.

Well the clan admin didnt care he told me (in all caps of course) I was banned for being a gay ass rammer. The truth was I had killed him and his gunner over and over the last round I pleaded with him not to ban me and told him how I had done the best in the server last round and rarely EVER ram. He wouldnt hear any of it and I got banned. Very Lame. Anyone had something similiar happen?

WTF is up with the ram ****, everyone says nice job idiot or something when I crash into a helicopter. It isnt like I do it on purpose. I would rather rack up 100 kills then go ram a chopper and lose it to some noob waiting for it. Half the time it is the ****in chopper pilots fault for being a moron and flying straight up or in my direction. I have yet to be banned from a server for it, but if I do I would be glad because I wouldnt want to play in a server with a bunch of ****tard admins.

Yep, my team-mate and I were in a transport heli taking a point and another friendly heli came to also get assist points from the flag capture. Anyway we were hovering above the point when our friendly flew up and its rotors hit the bottom our our heli and we were both killed. My mate, the pilot received Teamkill x 4, Teamvehicle damage x 1 and was kicked and banned from the server.

Heh that reminds me...back when blackhawking was the in thing....I was piloting a full Bhawk and a cobra landed on top of me while i was hovering. I got about 13 teamkills total....for the bhawk crew....the ah1z crew...and a bunch of guys on the ground. Of course I was instantly banned from that server as everyone went PUNISH PUNISH PUNISH PUNISH..

Eh, I say ramming is a valid tactic... If you're willing to take the suicide, go for it... If you don't like it, learn to evade! (or call in some air support to take the guy out before he can reach you)...

its because most people out there just don't care, they would rather slam into you and get a kill count than try to shoot you. Funny thing is, suicide gets you -2 points. 1 kill gets you +2 points...and i have seen idiots kami into my friend who was in a freaking boat! What did this accomplish? Nothing. Now for those instances where people accidently crash, I can understand it. However when I am in a chopper hovering in the air not moving, and a jet comes barreling into me...I'm taking up less than a percent of the sky...and you just so happened to hit me?! Anyway...thats why I moved away from using the jets and crap. They are great, but to much of a hassle anymore. You have people Tk-ing you to get the jet, the other team stealing it, just for you to fly really fast and drop bombs on people and get lots of kills. No thanks, not much of a challenge compared to being a grunt on the ground and having to deal with an APC and tank at the same time...and killing both!

I HATE KAMI's! there so annoying get in a heli and be flying i watched this one j-10 ram right into me i tried dodging by going lower he followed right into me. its just stupid... they dont get points off.

I agree! I bet the idiot admins who ban for that will still strap c4 on vehicles & ram things. Hypocrites!

Im Guilty, ahhhh. Ya i tend to ram but most the time its because i..
*dont see them
*fly as close as i can to them (sometime i kill them without getting killed myself)
*fly over them and they go up
*other mishaps

reasons why i do
*If they are spawn killing main base that cant be taken over (I was playing and blackhawk was hovering with 2 guys and a pilot, the team keeps spawning on the leader and jumping out of BH, there where like 12 guys so i put a end to that bh with a ram)
* in the mood
*out of ammo and low on health while being chases by and missle or enamy plane.

Im sorry but its a tactic, However others do it because they are gay and dont know how to use the mechine gun, whitch is not me.

It's very easy to crash sometimes and it's idiotic to ban someone for ramming an enemy player. Sadly there are a lot of idiot admins....

I never intentionally ram, but accidents do happen. Its not easy when your flying towards a transport helicopter, firing every missile you have (missing completely), then firing your cannon with enough time to realize that the target is getting really close. Half the time you try to pull up, but the chopper pilot decides up is a good direction too, and boom.

As I never play with jet, but frequently pilot, I used to separate accidents based upon the fact that the incoming jet used his gun or not. If he did, it's an accident. If he did not, it's ramming.

How are you gonna know if it's deliberate? I know sometimes I'll be gunning a helo and I'll think it's descending and it's actually ascending and I crash into it. Or I'll crash into the "shell" of a freshly destroyed helo.

Why don't you just ban Jihad Jeeps too while you're at it. Or people that C4 tanks but kill themselves too?

bah. Banning rammers is a stupid rule.
