BASIC knife badge requires 7 kills?

First off, I don't like the concept of badges to begin with, and I don't play to get them, but seeing as I can't get to my next rank without all the basic badges, I'm starting to rethink this policy. So I went to ubar.bf2s.com and looked at the requirement for every badge I didn't have. I was shocked to find that the basic knife badge requires 7 kills, meanwhile, the basic sniper badge requires only 5, and you can use any combination of weapons to get that.

Should I even bother? All I'd get is the upper hand in being a commander and one unlock. I shudder to imagine all the games I could ruin chasing people around with a knife, looking like an idiot, and ending up with a 0 to [insert two or 3 digit number here] kill/death ratio.

It doesn't really matter. Most of the guys with the badge were stat padders. Don't ruin your K/D ratio.

I recieved my basic,veteran, and expert knife badge in a knife and pistol server. They are scarce but fun. I ended up getting over 50 knife kills in 1 round.

Basic knife requires 5, that is FIVE, kills IAR.

Basic knife still requires 7 with the patch, the basic pistol badge requires 5 kills IAR. Just got to a Karkand server with about 32 people and run around like crazy in the alleyways. Be sure to prone when you knife, pretty easy to get after a little practice.

It might take some time but its not THAT bad. I got my vet and basic badges at exactly the same time on a 64 player karkand map. I joined about halfway through the game and I focused on the not so hot spots. Going for knife kills at busy outposts will get you killed and fast. I basically just looked for lonewolfs trying to capture flags that were a long ways from the big battles and it was pretty easy. But it took 7 kills to get the basic and vet for me. I already had the total number just needed the one round score.

No, it does not. I counted them as I went along and this was not on some knife/pistol only server so it is not *that* easy to do. I'm sure it is 5 for basic.

Basically intentionally getting points without helping your team. For example, if I were to kill someone with a knife, then have a medic who I was in cohoots with on the other team revive him, so I could kill him again.

lol you all sounds like its hard to get 7 knife kills.. i think its to easy, if you joined the pistol/knife server though

Ubar and TotalBF2 both have it marked as 7 kills still and they have pistol badge at 5, so yes they have updated since patch.

I got mine on Songhua Stalemate on a 32 man server in the same manner as RavengerZ. You need a good commander though. I was a squad leader and would call for UAV on a flag I was going after. If I saw a couple of guys defending, I'd go knife them.

Getting it on a pistol/knife server is lame and stat padding according to EA. Didn't people get their stats reset for playing on those servers?

At best I'm an average player and I had no problem getting 7 knife kills.
