Master ---> First Sergent! LOOK!

as you can tell, i have more than enough pts for first sergent. i also have all the basic badges EXCEPT ordience, however, on multiple sites it says its not needed for the promotion..

HELP! ive played a day ro 2 since getting the pistol badge and no luck

please check the search, this one has been covered a few dozen times.....now the bad news, it's not going to happen for you (unless they patch again), once you are a master you can't move to first, it's an either or situation, not a standard promotion

yeah, it's fodder, and a lot of people that were hit with the pistol and knife bug have to pay the price as well. It is universally accepted as crap, but I imagine it will be fixed in the next patch (though you will probably promote before that happens)

This is total BS and happened to me. Stupid EA can't get anything right. I imagine the room where they discuss these things; there's probably one person there and they haven't seem the light of day for years....

Well atleast the 1.03 patch kept the red vs. blue bug alive! For a combat game to have a bug that keeps you from distinguishing friend from foe is truely unforgiveable.

The point of First Sergeant is to get the badges BEFORE you are promoted. Master and First Sergeant are the same rank point wise, just one's more "distinguished" than the other. 20,000 points is the Deadline for having all the basic badges.

I don't know why you all think it's a "bug". It's not. Think of it this way, not only are you promoted for getting 20,000 points, but you get a more distinguished promotion if you have all your badges by 20,000. If you have a school assignment due on Monday, and your teacher says if you bring in 3 photographs with your report you get extra credit. If you don't bring those photographs in on Monday, but do on Thursday, you're "sorry out of luck". It's either meet the deadline and get it, or don't. There is no "bug".

Both ranks are the SAME. You don't go from Master -> First. You go from Master -> Sgt. Major, ONLY if you get the badges it asks for before hand. One just says that you recieved all basic badges BEFORE you hit 20,000 points. It is NOT a bug, I repeat NOT a bug.

However, getting the veteran pistol/knife, while skipping over the basic, well that IS a bug.

Are we clear now?

i think its kinda nice being first sergeant... i dont see many on servers.. they're all masters.. makes me feel awesome :-D

It is a bug.

Many of us had our basic badges a long, LONG time ago. When the 1.03 patch jumped us like 4 ranks, it just put us right into MSgt even if we had all the reqs for 1st Sgt.

. . . I find that hard to believe. I had no problems going to First Sergeant and as you said, I had all my badges earlier. You obviously did something wrong (forgot a badge, etc.)

believe it Jnick, its happened to ALOT of people including myself. I recieved my veteran and basic pistol badge at the same time as I had over 50 pistol kills before I got 7 in a round. This happened long before the patch and I am positive I had all the badges required for first sergeant, yet I was promoted to master sergeant.

Its not a big deal, but as some people say, its a bug that should be fixed.

Let me just confirm here that 50000 will bump you up to first sergeant or in my case sergeant major if you suffer from the vet pistol glitch. I only had to deal with it for about 4000 points.
