Tired of slow boats? TRY THIS!

It seems whenever i'm online, at least once a game (level permitting). I happen to find myself with no helo, plane or dpv... and i have to resort to the normal slow deliberate movements of a boat.

but there is a way to accelerate the boats past their normal speed.

This occurs often when u beach a boat, it'll speed up a bit along the shore (until the motor touches land and it stops). So all you have to do is this.

    1. When you want to get somewhere fast- drive the boat partially on the shore, dont beach it but make sure the bow of the boat rises, YOU will definetly notice a difference in speed.

    2. If you want to escape a btr/tank/helo trying to blow up the relatively weak boat, try and find a nice large rock or island to launch off, accel. into the rock/island, making sure you dont let the motor touch the land, and you will literaly fly (REALLY, sometimes the boat gets airborne and launches you).

P.S. explanation is simply this, less boat in water=less drag, typically termed "Planing". just dotn over do it or the boat will flip upside down.

    TRY IT, IT REALLY WORKS!

ever did this in real life ? boats on land aren't very movable if you ask me, but never the less, good tip, will try it in BF2

I saw a guy doing this last night, he was actually flying across the water with the boat at about a 45 degree angle, he eventually flipped it completely over.

We were watching him from a cobra and laughing.

Planing is when the boat reaches it's hull speed and starts to "surf" on it's bowwave.

Although having less hydrodynamic drag does help the boat to plane, being close to land would not really help.

This must be something that was the designed into the game rather than something inherent to the physics engine and you are, in a way, exploiting the design.

Throughput is a little bit better than just two, but not by much. Access time isn't measureably different.

First on the map, every single time a new map loads, though, which is useful for somebody who likes to pilot copters.
