weird....i dont even use the same server

I find on different servers that the Chinese team beat the US easily 90% of the time

I do prefer to go Chinese as a Squad leader and kill those evil Capitalist american dogs

      have you experienced the same?
Wake plays the same, game after game.. a boring map, imo.
All the jet and chopper kiddies bail out over the middle point
when their aircraft gets damaged so they can steal another one..

I notice a lot of snipers, who could care less about their team
taking control points, but rather, they just find a hiding place and
wait for the troops to come up the road..

Dragon Valley is the best map, imo..

Next time you're Commander and you have this happen...you tell them over the mic...keep spawing in as a sniper and I'll keep dropping Heat on your A_S_S

Once you get the Chinese focused on ground defense, then your seaborne assaults can come in and take the outlying flags w/o too much problem.

As China, the key is to have good pilots to supress the carrier and move your land forces to the island's arms and just waste anything that heads your way.

It's like any other map -- the good teams win.

Far too many snipers I agree...Dragon Valley is your favorite map...interesting...I haven't heard that before. Normally, people say Karkand or Mashtuur...and rightfully so. I like Wake because of the challenge. I like it because there enemy usually comes in one direction and it's intense. Not the best map that's for sure.

Dragon Valley is the most underrated map in the game, I love it too.

But I disagree, I think Wake is a blast, and it can be different from match to match. I love the long-range infantry battles, since my style is to hang back and engage at mid-long range with assault rifles or carbines. Also, control of the island can change in a moment if the defending team loses focus on one side of the island or the other. It's evident it depends on how well organized your team is no matter what side you're on. If your team isn't paying attention to which parts of the island aren't covered, you'll lose your foothold in a heartbeat.

And I agree, control of the airfield = teh win. Air power is devastating. Just line the aircraft up with the length of the island and let 'er rip on the green box.

It needs to be communicated which flags have no opfor near them. It also helps if you start at one flag and work your way around. It is hard to win if you have to fight a two front battle.
I agree, but IMHO a two fronted battle is better as it stretches the game out. Similar to Karkand where eveyone can get bogged down at the first flag. Spreading the fight allows the attacking side more ops to get further flags. Distraction tactics!

First thing I do is load up a blackhawk, and fly until I can't see the ground then off to their airfield we go. Once they lose the airfield, they lose their teeth. I've rarely seen them come back for the win after losing the airfiled.

I agree, the US capping a point quickly is key, even if it isn't the airfield. Additionally, I think its very helpful for that first cap to not be on the end of the island, but rather adjacent to the airfield.

The USMC need to cap the airfield asap... take a full blackhawk with a good pilot through the western side, avoid the usual vehicles near the beach, head through the trees and dump the BH on the dirt near the flag... make sure a squad leader bails out the helo before the LZ and hides just in case the mission goes tits up... I've been part of similar manouvres a couple of times and it worked... Blitz and hold the AF to win the game.

                        Re: Wake Island unbalance

If you have a good blackhawk pilot, you can get a full crew to the airfield, no sweat. To be completely safe, it'll take awhile, but it can also be done quick and dirty.

This map is all about airpower, imho. If the chinese have the upperhand, the assault ship is just a barrel full of USMC fish.

As far as best map, the people who pick kark are people who don't like aircraft/helicopters, and the people who pick maash are usually bh whores or the previously mentioned groundpounders.

Anybody who likes flying attack choppers is never going to pick either of those two maps for number one, obviously. I wish the server browser was smart enough so I could completely remove the servers that just run the city maps from my view.

I like Dalian Plant, and Daqing Oilfields.

I think it's balanced. Whenever I'm on either team, we tend to win with that team. Perhaps it has to relate to the skill of the operator?

                            Re: Wake Island unbalance

Funny, I figured the USMC had a huge advantage.

                            -They always have bases
                            -They always have airpower
-They have the potential of getting TWO airbases (not possible for chinese)

Solution? Make chinese air uncappable. Or leave island with neutral flags and bases and add a chinese carrier.

                              Re: Wake Island unbalance

I have played Wake Island several times now. I played on servers that they would rotate teams every round. In my conclusion I found that the team that had the 'better' players always prevailed. Meaning, you just need to find the right team that is actually wanting to win, instead of playing for 'effect'.

USMC needs to take airfield first thing, then establish other flags. If you try and take on CHINA head on, you will loose about 95% of the time.

CHINA needs to hold the air field. Also CHINA has to hope that 90% of the team isn't hanging around the airfield for a air vehicle or other means of transportaion. I would love to see Wake Island played in clan competition. It would be pretty damn sweet. However, I am unwilling to dedicate my time to clans at the moment.
