Jackhammer VS DAO

I'm a game or 2 away from Sergent, and I have narrowed my unlock choices down to the Jackhammer or the DAO. I like the engineer class (and I use it far more than anti-tank) better, but it seems like the DAO is a touch better. Anyone with experience using both have any advice? How's the Jackhammer?

The Jackhammer steals all your ammo, if you know what I meen.
The DAO dose that to, but not so much.

The dao does 96 in dmg and the jackhamer slightly more, 120.

Im using both they are both good for their respective classes but these weapon unlock posts are pointless since now you get unlocks every few hundered points .... just wait and play a day and get unlocks tomorrow
before patch 1.03 they were justifiable because it actually took quite some time between unlocks.

Well, really it is all down to what you feel is best, but if your asking me I would have to say the Jackhammer, because it is faster at reloading, it has slightly more power and you like playing as engineer class. I chose the Jackhammer and it is really good, especially on maps such as Sharqi and Karkand, city maps mainly. I use engineer more than the Anti-Tank ( I never use Anti-Tank only once in a round), but I would go for the Jackhammer.

I have both, since those are the 2 classes I play the most.

Certainly if you are facing several enemies, the DAO is better since it has more total shells. However, if you are doing a good job of being a sneaky engie and get them nice and close, the 7 shot full auto jackhammer rips even bunny-hopping noob tubers out of the air with ease.

Both have a long reload, but you can switch to pistol and back to interrupt it if someone comes up on you while reloading and you just need a few shots, not the whole magilla. Also, if you have quick fingers, the semi vs auto isn't a big deal. If you are slower on the trigger, the auto is nice, but you run out of ammo inside 3 seconds.

The real answer is - pick the class that you play the most! Whether you love the jackhammer or not, it sure is a nice upgrade from the US shotgun.

I like the DAO better myself. The extra rounds, and the ability to interrupt reload mid-way is great. I find I kill more with the DAO in general.

DAO-12 without question. The Jackhammer is neat, but has limited in-game usefulness.

Huh? I thought you only got unlocks when you got a higher rank? I've been trying for Sergent for 2 weeks without any unlocks....

Hmm, that might be an overstatement but the jackhammer and the dao are nice indeed

I'd check your stats and see which I'm worst at, either the lmg or shotgun, and which kit the KD rate is best with. Then take the gun for the one with the 'worst' performance, rounding out your style :)

or play a game with all unlocks on non ranked servers to find out which one you fancy most

They're both pretty much the same. But if you narrow it down, I think you should consider it in terms of "what kit do you think needs the most help". In my case, I chose engineer's unlock first.

Either way, you can't go wrong, they both own.

I have both,

The jackhamer is way more powerfull then the DAO, one shot one kill or max two shots for one kill with the jackhamer.
The DAO needs most of the time two shots or more to kill someone, one shot one kill must be at very close range.

OK, the jackhamer runs out of ammo very fast, but the reload is not as long as the DAO, If you run out of ammo with the DAO and you need to reload the whole thing, it will take extremely long.

I would go for the jackhamer, because the jackhamer is like a much more upgrade to a shotgun, then a DAO for a submachine gun is.

How close do you need to be to make one shot kills with the Jackhammer? I've been using it (the Jackhammer) at about tank distance and I usualy need to unload about 4 or 5 rounds on the guy before he'll fall?
