    Boolean shapes in Gmax

    Hi again guys.

Im making a L115A1 which needs to have a 'thumb hole' grip in the stock and i also need to make the trigger hole. How do i make holes/cut out pieces from my model? i read on a ghost recon modding thread that i use a boolean tool but its a bit complicated how it is written can someone help me, take me through step by step please.

    thanks

Never ued GMAX, I use 3D Studio.

Booleans have a habit of creating extra unwanted vertices. It is best to use extrude and cut functions to create the entire model, as this will leave you with the lowest poly count.

Booleans have problems, but my models are fine made with them :)

If GMAX is like max then it will be under the compound objects drop down menu.

U'd better draw ur hole with a "cut" and then just extrude it into the mesh.
