I'm torn between the PKM and the L85 as my next unlock

I play medic a lot because I just love diving on a dead guy and jump starting his heart. I really like it when he doesn't say thank you. I also love being killed right after reviving the bast_ard. Seriously, I don't like playing medic.

I have read the pros and cons of the L85. It's not that great in close, better at a distance. I really wanted an better upgrade to the M16 since being medic is a relatively dangerous job. Think about it, someone just got killed and you have 15 secs to revive them. Well, the person that killed your guy is probably going to try to kill you in that short time. I get killed a lot reviving people so I wanted a more powerful gun than the L85. I don't know, you help me decide.

I have read the PKM is just powerful as all heck but not that accurate. Since I absolutely suck I would rather have something with a kick to help me get more kills.

What to do?

p.s. I have the m95, g3, g36, dao already unlocked so it's between the pkm and l85. Forget the jackhammer.

i would honestly go for the jackhammer. seeing as an engineer gets a shotgun anyway, why not get a better one?

But for me the L85 is best, the PKM is totally lethal, but only if you can actually hit anything at all with it.

I love my PKM it was instrumental in getting my support K/D in the + this week, great gun it's not that inaccurate if you single fire or burst just don't keep finger on trigger unless it's a jeep or you want to keep someones head down.

try them first. either keep picking up support/medic kits you find along the way untill you find them or join a server which has all unlocks playable.

After you spent some time with each you'll have a much better idea of what each one does, and you'll have the unlock you know you want :)

*edit* make sure to also try the jackhammer.. that puppy is ownage if the situation is right

The Jackhammer is great! If you can master the pistol for anything more than a few feet away the Jackhammer is uber-effective in close quarters.

I unlocked the M95 and regretted it, not much benefit over the other sniper rifles and not as accurate. Both sniper rifles are 2 shot kill or 1 head shot so only benefit is with shooting pilots, but come on that's not something you'll be doing a lot!

I love the medic upgrade, I was on the high roofs in Mashtuur the other day 'sniping' down at the mosque! Every time a real sniper tried to take me out I'd shuffle away, heal myself then go back and kill. Took out a few snipers and a about 5 troops before finally getting a skull breaker from somewhere!

in my opinion go for the pkm and whore the house on karkand by finding a good camping spot. the l85 really sucks, it was my 1st unlock and now i use the m16/ak47/ak101

It really depends on how you play. If you play medic, then select the medic unlock. That is it. Why select the support unlock if your going to use it once a week. If you play both, then I would say that if you play in squads that have medics, go for the PKM if you prefer close combat or support fire. The medic can always revive you. If you regularly play in squads that do not have medics, then take the L85…. You can keep the support guy alive and also fire upon enemies accurately as well.

I have both a rarely use the PKM as I do not play support that often.

the L85 is great, you can snipe with the thing (in one shot mode) and on medium range it's still very good, at close range the thing isn't so good, but actualy I prefer the M16 over the L85, the M16 is such a great weapon, don't see your prob with it.

The PKM is a monster in every way, extremely powerfull but hard to control!
It's very good at close and medium range, but only and only if you go prone (do not stand up and fire with the thing because the recoil is extreem) , and only two bullets of the PKM and most enemy's are down, they go down very fast.

I would go for the PKM.

While the L85 is a pea shooter, I find it very useful in close combat, as it is extremely accurate I don't even aim when in close combat, therefore you take an advantage over the guy who has to aim at you and you already have 3 shots in him. Like one guy said you can snipe people with the L85a, and if they hit you, you have the ability to heal yourself and others around you. Its a great gun, and only revive the poeple around you when its safe to revive them, clear the area for yourself first, unless of course its your squad leader.


PKM - Very nice gun, often times I will chose the Saw over it though, so if you play US alot its not that big of improvement if any at all, its more accurate, but slower firing(which is big). Its pretty accurate if you only single fire it by lightly tapping the mouse.

Silly question time: How do you switch between single fire and full auto on an M16 type weapon? (other than single tapping the mouse button) I have read that these guns are both semi and full auto but everytime I use them it's full auto.
