PC Restarts during BF2

Sometimes when I play, my PC simply resets without warning. No blue screen, nothing. Just a reboot. BF2 is the only game besides DoD:S and CS:S I have installed on this system, it's basically fresh from a format. All drivers are up to date, I am certain, and Windows is fully updated. All settings in-game are on medium, except Geometry which is on high. I'm also running AAx2 in game. Here are my computer specs:

AMD Athlon 64x 3500+ Socket 939
ASUS A8N-SLI
1GB (512x2) PC3200 Corsair XMS
Leadtek nVidia GeForce 6600GT (x1)
SB Audigy 2 ZS

Any clues? I don't have this problem with DoD:S or CS:S.

Maybe a heat problem?

ASUS have a little program called 'asus probe' which monitors the temp of your motherboard, CPU and PSU. Could you install it?

how meny watts is your power supply?
if your power supply dosnt create enough juce for all your components, it just cut out.

so your most likley issues are
1) as Ptegan said, overheating
or
2)loss of power

plus, are you overclocking at all? that could be causing it as well.

asusprobe will also give you info on the amount of power that the PSU is providing. I have a 350W unit powering a Geforce 6800 and had the same reboots during the summer when the PSU couldn't cope.

I'll run PCProbe in the background next time and record what I get. I can say at idle, the CPU is steady at 40C. Is there a way to record the peak GPU heat with the nvidia tools?

Ok, that util shows my GPU is peaking at around 90 and holding steady in the mid to upper 70's during gameplay.

Should I install these extra fans I have layin' around?

Oh, and CPU temp barely went up at all during gameplay.
