It's 200k for 2nd Lt. now, but you know they're gonna knock the requirement down again probably like they did this time. But first they have to think of some kind of bonus or unlock. . .

I don't give damn about the ranks/awards/other crap. Just patch the bugs and get people to play as a team and I'll be happy.

Why isn't there an option like this one?

All of the services use the same insignia for officer ranks.. Air Force, Army and Marine Corps all have the same officer structure.. the only one that differs is the navy.

2nd LT in USMC = Ensign in USN
1rst LT USMC = Lt Jr. Grade in USN

and so on.

Seeing as how the ranks in this game are based on the Marine Corps enlisted structure, although they are colored the Army way (kinda stupid).

It would be nice to see some Warrant Officers, there are plenty.. 5 to be exact.

WO1 = Warrant Officer 1
CW02 = Chief Warrant Officer 2
CW03 = Chief Warrant Officer 3
CW04 = Chief Warrant Officer 4
CW05 = Chief Warrant Officer 5 (aka Gunner) very few of these exist.. most go from CW04 to 2nd LT.

Either way.. how much would it crack you up to see a 4 star general running around the battlefield. What would be even cooler is if they adopted the physical standards for the ranks. So if you DID have a 4 Star.. all his hair would be grey.. he would have a gut going, and the sprint on him would be miniscule.

There are some .tga files in the menu_client.zip file in the Battlefield 2\mods\bf2 directory that extend past 2nd Lt. These are only icons (like the ones you see next to your name) but you have 2nd Lt., Colonel, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 star general icons, and then you have an EA logo as an icon and then a DICE logo as an icon. So the ability to add them is definately there, it's just when or if they decide to do so (and much like everything else in the game, patches or the SF mod, it's already half in the code or just not finished, they just have to touch it up, fix it, or add functionality)

navy differs also, with 0-3 being lieutenant instead of captain, and captain being an 0-6 instead of a colonel. also they have admirals, lower, upper and vice then just admiral.

also during a time of war, there is one 5 Star general for each branch and a 5 star admiral, that shud be tranfered to BF2 where there being one 5 star at any given point instead of the current segerant major of the corp i think it is.

This will keep me playing..but the only reason they wont add more ranks is so you get BORED with BF2 and buy the expansion

The Sergeant Major of the Corps is actually a billet much like how BF2 has it.. A 5 star promotion is to fill a billet but the rank stays after the person is removed from the position.

Wouldn't it be nice if they had 5 star officers, and you got some hella point package if you captured his ass Maybe sell him back to the other team or something. Being a commander would take on a whole new meaning if that was the case.. You'd need a driver just to keep you moving. Of course the driver gets some ability points for being "Generals Aid" or something goofy.

yeah i know theres only one sergeant major the corps, our airforce one is cheif master sergeant of the airforce Murray.

but a 5 star general is much more illustrious than a chief
