  • Please DICE... Make a volume manager for Radiochatter!

About a night ago I played a game on the clone server.
It was the most amazing round of BF2 I have played since the demo.
I could hear bullets wizzzing by my head and bangin of the walls next to me.
Explosions off in the distance and gunfire from my fellow squade.
It was just outa this world.

The reson being there was NO radio chatter. Not that i figured a way to disable it or remove it from the files. Just everyone knew what they were doing and never bathered to hit eny chat keys.......it was the best.
Only thing I hade wauz that lame chick repeating that same message over and over again every minute. Other then that it was sweeeet.

Wish there wuz a way of turning this crap off.
Totaly ruins a game that boasts XF-I. But when you turn it on all you can here is little timmy screeming about a tank thats half a mile away from me.
This is the only part of the game that sux.

    Later bros......{Akuma}

Im talking about Need AMO..or Give my a ride. enemy spoted.
Nice features ill admit but would be nicer if you can still use, but turn of the soldiers screeming in your ear for a medic.

        give me a ride!

Disabling voice over to 0% only get ride of the old geezer telling you how to fire your rifle.

So isnt there a way to remove those sound files or replace them by some 0 kb files?

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2 then the "common client" rar file with the sound?

so replacing all those comm files by useless 0 kb files with the same name should solve the problem?

Re: Please DICE... Make a volume manager for Radiochatter!

I wish DICE would remove useless stuff from the radio chatter area like the medic lines "Clear" and such. There is no need for them to be there and just having them as ambient noises form the soldiers themselves is enough.

I wouldn't mind some kind of server side setting to change the cut off point for the "blocked for 30 seconds" though.

but the sounds are located in the Common_client.zip file so if you replace those??? Should be the same like the intro movies ,by replacing them with a file of the same name it wouldnt play. If you replace the sound files with files made of 0 kb they shouldnt load into the game?

Oh, okay. Sorry I misunderstood you. Funny thing is if you look in the .con files there are actually options to do that, but they don't do jack when activated. Theres a crapload of options for all sorts of thingsn that don't do jack when activated in the .con files. Dice is just lazy, what can ya do ya know?

                      Yeah I know...
Same as the field of view in the Video file.
Its there but changes to it do nothing in game.
