    Mine + Nade = BOOOM!

    Heres the story!

So as a assault i see a guy comeing along a road i shoot my noobtube (shamelessly) in his generall direction. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM I am so look closer, a line of mines which was recently there is gone. Then unfortuenly the dead (flying) body hits a pigeion whose only purpose in life is to emit a hummouruse squalk.

So now mines (big boom) and claymores (not so big boom) blow up from nades. Unfortunely this takes another one of the engineers virtues (removeing mines) from him. And you guys think the sniper is underpowered!

      Bad call

w/ the new mine stuff, since most all maps can't hide them other than on a reverse slope with a high speed vehicle. Any tank can see a mine or C4, back up and blow it.

Of course it wont stop your teammates from hitting them and then punishing you before their body hits the ground.

It could be a good tactic to use on a choke point in a map. Spread the mines out evenly over an area and wait for anything to come by and lob a grenade into the middle

They blow up alright.. and if they're all together.. they will all blow up. Engi's now have to separate mines even more or they'll be totally useless.

In real life mines are a passive, defensive device. Yes, it's strange to call a weapon that can blow you to smitherines passive. But, ultimately, it's purpose is to block passage (or you die) and do so without the need of those who placed the mines to be present.

Not so in Battlefield 2 (especially since the 1.03 patch). Their primary effective use is in an agressive (and usually suicidal) run against a tank or other heavily armored vehicle. Placing mines ahead of time in this game is just silly.

Mines are still quite useful. They just have to be used in a way that is entirely contrary to its real life purpose.
