Can't Add Custom Maps

I recently set up my bf2 server when the new 1.03 patch came out. I uploaded the El_Alamein_XXL map in the levels folder just like on my pc at home.

When I attempt to map.listappend it to my current server maplist, which in turn adds it to the maplist.con file, it displays this:

> map.listappend El_Alamein_XXL gpm_cq 64
could not add to maplist. map not found:El_Alamein_XXL gameMode:gpm_cq
0

Now this map installs itself in a directory called El_Alamein_XXL. It has the capitalization. I also tried renaming it and the corresponding .desc file lowercase. Same result. I still get the error. I even tried stopping the gameserver and reloading it to perhaps make it sense the extra map.

What am I doing wrong?

I am having similar problems, it would be helpful if someone could post a step-by-step guide explaining how to install a custom map onto a BF2 server (unranked of course).
