Ive tried everything i can think of, still no good.

This looks like it could be a big problem in 1.03

Anyone else have this problem....

"This server only allows players with unmodified content to join. Revert your version of battlefield 2 to the current official version to join."

Yep, same here, when a map ends, I'm kicked. This only happens on some servers, go figure!

Yeah it seems to happen on our own server every time, but i can go on some other servers at it does not happen.
Go figure, why is it just me and not my clanmates if it is server side ?
Why can i go on other servers and not have the problem ?

I had the same problem... my version was dutch... and that was annoying to everyting in dutch... i re-installed the whole game... and this time i put everything on English so i have now the english version.. and it worked... i did not get the message any more... soooo keep trying...

Well i had this error but i found it that a virus was corrupting BF2's files. Making it say that so I reformatted it and boom it's perfect. So basicly your BF2 files are getting corrupt because your files are different to all the servers.

"modified content " means that the patch didn't install properly even if it appears it did. The patchlog.txt file will tell you what the patch failed to install.

This means that you will either be able to connect to no server or just some specific maps.

yep i think you are onto something cause ive been getting same and on last one i just did a install of the patch 1.03 didnt even uninstall it first just hit install works,so far.

kswiss, i'm working on the problem at the moment, trying to recreate the error on my system (which doesn't have the problem).

So far I've found about 3 different solutions to the problem but none include reinstalling and hoping for the best. Either bad or overclocked RAM seems to be at fault for a lot of people.

Check out the post from ryback here and notice how he had to change his RAM to get it working. Others have done the same by just removing the memory that wasn't working while installing the patch and putting it back to play the game.

Why would memory have anything to do with this problem? I have this problem too and there is nothing wrong with my memory.

How do you know there is nothing wrong with your memory?

Some people have said the same thing only to run memtest and find errors. Once the card was changed the patch installed perfectly.

When you install the patch it copies the files in the patch to memory and compares them to the ones already on the drive. If it detects a difference between the two files then it won't patch the file and you get 'modified content' errors.

Well I thought I ran memtest before that may have been my other machine though.

I will run it on my BF2 machine tonight and let you know if that is the problem.

Has anyone else with this problem run memtest?
