Did any one hear anything or even a rumor regarding a 64-bit update to battlefield? I know that the game is so buggy and we will be grateful if EA/DICE release just a working 32-bit patch! but I am talking here about longer term plans, something like maybe next year or whatever!

Re: 64-Bit Battlefield 2 possible?
There a proccessors out there that are 64 bit insted of the old 32 bit. The people who have bought 64 bit proccessors have a advantage. There applications run a bit faster. (Providing that the company allows the use of 64 bit) If you still don't understand Here is a picture to help outOriginally posted by dragon159753can someone explain this to me?
Below is a far cry running ona 32 bit proccessor.

Now this is what it would look like on a 64 bit proccessor.

A rock on 32 bit

the same rock on 64 bit

Re: 64-Bit Battlefield 2 possible?
if you know how you can run it in 64bit already. infact u can run anything anything almost in 64bit if you know how. my squad mate plays BF2 in 64bit and says its ALOT faster loading, smoother, and gfx wize. so 2 answer your question you dont need a patch to run the game in 64bit you just need your system running itComment

I also have Farcry but was lead to believe that although i have a 64 Bit Processor, the patch/upgrade will not run correctly on 32 bit windows. Thus requiring the Windows XP 64 Edition.Originally posted by Blackburnif you know how you can run it in 64bit already. infact u can run anything anything almost in 64bit if you know how. my squad mate plays BF2 in 64bit and says its ALOT faster loading, smoother, and gfx wize. so 2 answer your question you dont need a patch to run the game in 64bit you just need your system running it

I think you are misinformed a little bit here.
You friend has a 64-bit windows xp pro and running the 32-bit battlefield 2 on it. The game is still running as a 32-bit application. All you are benifiting from by doing this is PROBABLY a better memory managment by windows xp pro 64-bit.
My question is: will they release a patch like the 64-bit patch for FarCry? The gentleman who showed the screenshots of FarCry just gave the best summary. having a native 64-bit bf2 will give a larger view distance and enhanced quality, not just extra frames per second.
So my response to you is "No! there is no 64-bit bf2 right now! running it on a 64-bit os will give a marginal advantage, if any"
We need a patch like FarCry's 64-bit patch.Comment
