Yesterday I had the best commander in a while.

I forget his name, but he impressed me. Not only did he UAV the right places, he would frequently spot things for people. I was sneaking into the MEC base as the USMC and he spotted a whole bunch of people there and even dropped artillery twice to get them off my ass.

That's not the only thing he did, he profanely yelled at the armor whores who would park waaaay out on the outskirts and if they didn't move, he'd drop arty on them to poke them into action. He'd also give people orders that could actually be accomplished.

Overall: amazing :P

So he would bomb his own team with artillery and help a guy who is on his own and not performing any team work stratagy while raping a uncaptural point.

I played with a guy like this not too long ago. He was also very vocal to his squad leaders (I was one). Needless to say, we won effortlessly, we just followed his orders. He would spot as well but would specify with his voice what what going on as well. Very good work!

Good stuff. Commanders like that are few and far between.

I doubt it but it could have been me because you're describing exactly how I play commnader.

In the screen 100 % of the time unless repairing or defending an asset.

Run scan then use UAV for the most deserving area w/ friendlies to fight and enough bad guys to justify it.

After scan and UAV note areas where a single blip occurred and zoom in and spot individual bad guys.

Check squads for one w/ an Engy and request repairs or pick a tiny squad so they might respawn to help you fix your stuff.

Favor Support for closest spawns and players in most cases, no bad guys behind you protects the assets better and beats burning the candle at 2 ends.
-1 supply crate deep cap'd spawn for SF when they get there? sure.
-Drop supplies between spawns in smart places so people can stock up on their way to the fight.
-Arty in close but still safely away from the good guys? all the time.
-Arty on a large group of players defending 3 flags deep? been known to happen.

It's frustrating when you get some idiot who gets commander then hops in a plane. Commanders usually make or break the game and it is a full time job unless it's like 4 V 4.

Yeah that was me I never command but when I do I could turn noobs into true BF killers.

Its so fun when from top to bottom everyone is working as a team. But out of all the rounds i have played there has only been a few. So sad when point whores ruin the game and such.

Only once or twice have a met a commander who actually uses his headset if he has one...And the first time it was some crazy German who kept shouting "ACHTUNG ARTLLERIE!". Which was a good thing since he was artillerizing a lot.

I agree with donpost. Lets get a sticky for posting fantastic commanders, then people will know when they see a good blokes name on the team list and will hopefully stop mutinying against good commanders.
