Issues with BF 2 - crashes while loading on "collisions"

Folks:

This is a recent issue and I am not sure what is causing this. The game will start and once it gets to 46-56% of loading it will crash to the desktop. Now recently I update my drivers for my graphics card and thought that to be the issue, BUT i rolled it back and still had the problem.

My system Specs are as follows:

Alienware aurora 7500
AMD4400+
2GB Ram
Nvidia 7800GTX
WindowsXP sp2

I also recently loaded Half Life2 on my system and am not sure if there is a conflict somewhere there as well - it runs flawlessly.

Is there a debug mode or a log file that I can take a look at to fiure out whats going on?

Any insight is appreciated.

Unfortunately I do not believe there is a debug log.

Half-Life 2 would not cause a conflict as many people have it on their system (myself included) along with BF2 without any problems.

My suggestions is update all of your drivers, Graphics, Sounds, etc. Then try again.

Also remember to UNINSTALL and CLEAN your old drivers prior to installing the new ones. See the "Graphics Cards and Utilities" sticky in the Hardware forum for how to properly do this.
