I lost my BF2 manual which has the BF2 CD key. I have BF 2 installed on my PC right now and can still play it. But if I need to format or something I wont be able to install BF2. Anyone know where the BF2 cd key is stored on the PC? Like in the registeries? So I can get it and write it down.

When you install the 1.03 patch it will encrypt the cd-key in the registry for "theft deterrent".. if you still have 1.0, 1.01 or 1.02 you'll be in good shape. 1.03 - good luck. What patch do you have installed?
I lost my CD key for Operation Flashpoint and emailed Codemasters asking what to do. They told me to look at the inner non-read part of my CD, and tell them what was etched in there. I emailed that info to them, and they sent me a new key. Maybe EA has the same system? I'm not at home, so I can't check the CD.

Wow, you're right. With patch 1.03 and later, the key is encrypted in the registry.
I really don't know what to tell you. I recommend you contact EA, explain your situation in as much detail as you can, and include the encrypted code you have in your registry.
Maybe you can save the encrypted key, format your drive, reinstall with pirate key, and overwrite the encrypted pirate key with the encrypted valid key.
it doesn't matter. as long as you install the game in the same location when you format, you can simply export that registry entry. it doesn't need to be decrypted. then just add it back. it should allow you to play. halo is like that as well.
