How to find a game without Commander ?

Hell to all,
maybe a dumb question, but I enjoy playing Commander and very often I'm not ranked enough to get the job so my question is:
Before connecting to the server, is it possible to see in the BF2 browser if there is a Commander already applying on a map without connecting for nothing ?

No there isn't a way to see.

You just need to keep trying. Hope you have a fast pc so that you load in first and can get election before other try. That worked for me early on.

Every game i've decided I wanted to be commander on (since the patch) I was the only person that aplied for it.

WOW BadLizzard you sure do your job well.

Anyway like Beerstein said. Hope for a fast pc to get into the election cuz i have a fast pc and when i join game te first thing i do is apply for commander (that is if i want to play commander of course) and wait a second and usually when the election is over and the game starts and you respawn, i get accepted. I guess it may be luck or maybe my comp or maybe nobody likes commander anymore.

I've been on more games without commanders than I have with. After realizing that we have not seen a UAV I check the status. If no one is in the position I usually apply.

Just keep trying. You will find one.

same as guidon, many times halfway through the commander bails out, leaving a sudden power vacuum

The best rounds are when I take over, and the team pulls it back together and goes on to win anyway

Just a thought... if you really want to play commander bad enough, or just to get experience. You can do the following below.

1. Play Single Player
2. Play on Non ranked servers and try and apply first

these days because of the new patch you'll probably find quite a few servers that don't have a commander. People used to like the arty + kit = kills = badge formula. can't do that now.
