Different ranks

Don't shout at me if this has been mentioned before...

I think it would have been nice if the rank you gained reflected the army you were fighting for and the style of play, for example:

You should have a separate rank for USMC, MEC and China with unlocks only working when you are playing for that country. It is a bit silly that you can be a USMC sergeant fighting for the PLA.

Also you should have a commissioned rank based on your commander score, and this should determine whether you get precedence of command or not. It would make it easier for players to determine what a worthwhile commander you may be, as at the moment you could be a Master Sergeant with 0 command points who gets command because you outrank a sergeant who has 2000.

I think that not only this would make sense, it would also spread the ranks out a bit by making scores in each class generally lower. It would mean that the rank requirements could be a bit closer together (not 50,000 then 200,000 for example) without fear of everyone reaching the top rank within a few months.

Cool idea - but damn can you imagine if they tried to implement this? There are enough friggen problems with the different ranks as it is - lol.

they do this on bf2 combat but it requires a fee.

That is actually a pretty neat idea. Too late to implement though (I would think) but would give more to strive for in the game.

That would be good if there was a different unlock for each team also, you would get different ranks for different teams which would be good it would also give a value for the pla service ribbon and the mec one which at the moment have a stupidly low value that seems to be irrelevent.

I'm not sure it would be that difficult to implement even now, but you are right we should let them concentrate on the other more pressing bugs first!

I would certainly move around the countries a bit more if I knew I was aiming for something for each one, just like the different badges/awards kind of encourage a bit of variety with the kits.

In MoH:Pacific Assault when you got promoted you got a USMC rank and a japanese rank, along with american and japanese medals. It was a pretty good game. Too bad EA dropped the ball on it and swept it under the rug within weeks of being released. That game had potential too, it would have been hella fun if all the bugs were fixed. The patch that was supposed to come "in a few days" never came to my knowledge...
