Black Screen after installing patch

I just install the new patch on my computer and when i start the game it goes to a black screen for 5 sec and then it goes back to mt desk to HELP how to fix it

i update my drivers for my video card i have reinstalled windows and battlefield 2 and that is it for now but it is stell not working it goes back to the black screen and then goes to my desktop

Join the club. I had the same problem this weekend and spent hours trying everything trying to cure it.

Formatted HD and reinstalled in the end. Must of been an XP or DX9 Issue.

black screen indicates graphics problem, did you fully remove your old drivers before installing the new drivers? updated chipet drivers?

I tried:

Uninstalling the game/cleaning out profiles folder and clearing registry and then reinstalling patching to 1.03 and then punk buster. Did this 3 times.

Uninstalling Gfx drivers/runing Driver Cleaner and reinstalling first with Forceware 77.30 then 78.01 and also tried BETA 81.84.

Reinstalling DX9 Setup....which didnt do a thing as it detects that its already installed.

Thats when I gave up and reformatted. Works great now.
