getting 1st SGT

hey all, im not a frequent poster so forgive me if this has been covered

i have every basic badge (and some veterans) except for basic explosives

do i NEED this 2 become first sgt? cuz on ubar it doesnt state that as being a qualification for the rank

Actually look at the ubar again, it does state which basic badges you need for 1st SGT. It reads as follows:

Requirements:

* Score: 20000
* Awards: Basic Knife Combat Badge, Basic Pistol Combat Badge, Basic Assault Combat Badge, Basic Anti-tank Combat Badge, Basic Sniper Combat Badge, Basic Spec Ops Combat Badge, Basic Support Combat Badge, Basic Engineer Combat Badge, Basic Medic Combat Badge

If you don't gain First Sergeant, you will simply remain as Master Sergeant, until reaching enough points for the next available rank.

according to what other people said you can only have the basic badges, or else you wont be able to 1st Sergeant

i have the same problem. did you get veteran before you got basic? i somehow got veteran before i got basic, so when i view my stats it says i never got basic. oh well. the only problem is it makes our ranks look bad

yeah. i was first sarge before and i don't even have the basic explosives badge. now, sergeant major still without the basic explosives. just make sure you meet all the other badge requirements...
